Laser Hair Removal Aftercare
1What will I notice after my procedure?
The following side effects may occur straight after your hair removal procedure in the treated area but will normally
subside within 24 hours of treatment.
-Redness
-Treated area may look sunburnt
-Swelling around the follicle
Rest assured that these symptoms are normal reactions to this type of treatment, Any swelling you experience will be
visible in the hair follicles and will appear like small raised lumps. You may also experience peeling, which will usually
subside within 3-5 days. Temporary, mild pigmentation may occur and usually settle within about 6 months
2What care should be taken after I have had Treatment?
We urge all patients to stay out of the sun as exposure to sunlight may cause melanin regeneration, which in turn may result in increased pigmentation. We recommend the regular use of an SPF30 sunscreen to protect the treated area from exposure to sunlight during the course of treatments, Also do not use any self tanning products or sunbeds.
3When should I book my next appointment?
You should book your follow up treatment 4-8 weeks after the first, depending on the body area treated and hair growth
cycle. Further treatment should only be carried out when hair growth returns.
In most circumstances we treat facial hair every 4 weeks, Truncal hair every 6 weeks and leg hair every 8 weeks to achieve
suitable results.
Typically, a minimum of 8 treatments are required to achieve further results, although further sessions will be required if you have a hormone imbalance or hormone related condition.
Regular maintenance sessions may also be required, as this is a hair reduction, rather than permanent hair removal, hair
may re-grow in the treated area.
4Things to avoid Post Treatment
Applying makeup- if any blistering or crusting occurs to the treated area.
Participating in any sports- Avoid aerobic exercise, massage, swimming, and heat treatment such as sunbeds, saunas or Jacuzzis for 24 hours.
Having hot baths or showers- for at least 12 hours
Waxing, tweezing, threading- or using depilatory creams between treatments, however shaving is recommended ifrequired.
Exposing the area to sunlight- for at least 4 weeks following treatment. If subsequent treatments are required then exposure to sunlight sun light, sunbeds and self-tan is not recommended at all throughout the course of your treatments.

Microdermabrasion Aftercare

that these symptoms are normal reactions to this type of treatment and usually settle after 24 to 48 hours.

-occasionally grazing to the treated area may occur

-Following treatment your skin may appear dry and you may experience outbreaks of ‘spots’
2What care should be taken after I have had Treatment?
Patients must refrain from using heat treatments straight after treatment (e.g. sunbeds, Jacuzzis) as they can cause further irritation which can inflame the skin. It is essential that a daily SPF30 sunscreen be applied throughout your course of treatments and continued afterwards, as new skin must be protected so as to prevent further damage.
You may resume your recommended home care products after 48 hours.
3When should I book my next appointment?
To achieve maximum results an initial course of 6 treatments is recommended at intervals of 1-2 weeks, with maintenance
treatments thereafter every 4-6 weeks.
4Recommendations
Post treatment, please apply only the creams recommended and take care to avoid touching the skin repeatedly following

-Waxing, tweezing, threading or using depilatory creams for 48 hours before and after treatment
-Alpha Hydroxy Acid or Retinoid/Retinol based products and facial scrubs, Please avoid these type of products as your skin
may be more sensitive. These should therefore be discontinued for 2-3 days following treatment.
-Injectable fillers, facial waxing, electrolysis or depilatory treatments should be avoided for at least 7 days after microdermabrasion.

Ultrasound Aftercare
1What will I notice after my procedure?
The following side effects may occur straight after your procedure within the treated area, but will normally subside a few days after treatment.
-Flushed skin
-Tenderness
-Discomfort in the treated area
If you experience any unusual skin reactions that have not been listed then please contact me to arrange a review.
2How long will it take to see results?
You may start to notice an improvement immediately following your first treatment. However you will see further improvements develop gradually after 2 treatments. Your body will continue to flush out the fat cells after treatment. This is a painless process that occurs naturally through your lymphatic drainage system.
3What care should be taken after I have had treatment?
To optimise results, we recommend 30 -60 minutes of cardiovascular activity after each treatment (a brisk walk or slow jog), drinking at least 2 litres of water, avoid alcohol for 3 days after treatment and a low sugar/calorie diet for 3 days after treatment.
4When should I book my next appointment?
The number of treatments needed and the length of time in between will vary depending on the individual. You will be advised when to book your next treatment. Usually a series of 8-12 treatments twice weekly is recommended to achieve the desired result.
5Could the fat come back?
If you stick to a healthy diet and exercise regimen fat should not return to the area. However, ultrasound treatment will not stop the body from accumulating fat in the future if you were to consume more calories than your body needs.
Please note: It is important to understand that different people can react differently to the same treatment. Due to the subjective nature of such treatments it is not possible to guarantee the results.
